Washington Examiner reports that artists like Fergie, Anthony Kiedis (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Drake came together with various other musicians before this year’s Grammy Awards to petition in favor of the musicians’ right to radio compensation.
They signed a statement encouraging Congress to pass the Performance Rights Act. As of now, though satellite radio, Internet radio and cable television compensate musicians to use their songs on air, AM and FM radio do not.
